FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of low-voltage electrical equipment, in particular, to a reflector for cutting off arcs and air flow in an automatic circuit breaker. Automatic circuit breaker comprises reflectors arranged on both sides of automatic circuit breaker housing, reflector on one side is located inside angle of arc of static contact, and this reflector cuts off space inside arc angle of static contact, wherein reflectors on both sides have a symmetrical structure; reflector can be a partition with a straight edge, or arc-shaped partition, wherein the reflector either dissects the arc angle of the static contact, or occupies the arc angle of the static contact so as to cut off the space inside the arc angle of the static contact. Deflector solves the problem that during process of disconnection at short circuit high-temperature gas is returned from side of angle of static contact arc back into area between movable contact and static contact, causing arc to move repeatedly in arc channel, which leads to long time of disconnection and strong burning of movable and static contacts. Deflector effectively cuts air flow and arc so that arc can effectively penetrate into arc-extinguishing chamber for further damping.
EFFECT: disconnection time is considerably reduced.
