FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: vented plug for the housing of the main spring of the gap adjustment device in the railway vehicle brake drive, comprising an inner part having an inner sealing surface configured to interact with the elongated rod, and an outer sealing surface configured to interact with the side wall located in the main spring housing end portion. Ventilated plug includes at least one opening allowing fluid and/or contaminants stuck inside gap and/or plug adjustment device to flow there through. Various seals and/or drain holes can also be provided along the gap adjustment device to prevent ingress and/or drainage of fluid/contaminants from the gap adjustment device.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of preventing accumulation of fluid and/or contaminants in a device for adjusting the gap and protecting the critical working region of the gap adjustment device.
