FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: drain system for use with a clearance adjustment device for a railway vehicle brake system allows the fluid and other contaminants to be drained from the clearance adjustment device to prevent the accumulation of the fluid and the contaminants within the clearance adjustment device. The clearance adjustment device comprises a main part of the casing, a part of a conical nut casing, covering the critical working area of the clearance adjustment device, and a part of the overtravel casing. The drain system comprises a window extending through a part of the side wall of the overtravel casing part. The window is made with the possibility to allow the fluid and/or contaminants to be drained through this at least one window to reduce the impact of the fluid and/or contaminants on the critical working area.
EFFECT: improved protection against contaminants.
