FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for displaying time on a mobile device. Method includes: determining whether a predetermined time display operation of the device is detected when the screen of the mobile device is turned off; when establishing the fact that a given device time display operation is determined, transmitting the time of the device calculated by the sensor chip to the display driver chip by the sensor chip, wherein the sensor chip is configured to obtain a standard time when the application processor is not operating, and calculating the device time in accordance with the internal clock; and switching on screen, and display of time on device screen by means of display driver chip. Technical solutions of the present invention do not require activation of the application processor when the user views time in order to avoid power consumption as a result of activating the application processor for calculating time. As a result, volume of energy consumption is considerably reduced when user browses time, and service life of accumulator battery of mobile device increases.
