SUBSTANCE: invention relates to encoding and decoding of images. Disclosed is a method of decoding multiple samples of an encoded image, wherein each sample comprises at least two components, the method comprising steps of decoding a first chrominance component and a second chrominance component of at least one sample of the encoded image in order to provide a first chroma component and a second chroma component of at least one reconstructed sample; decoding first filtering parameter as a common filtering parameter for both a first chroma component and a second chroma component of at least one reconstructed sample, wherein the first decoded filtering parameter is a bias-type adaptive bias type parameter indicating whether a loop-type adaptive bias-type edge offset filter is used or a loop-type adaptive bias-type offset filtering is used, or no loop adaptive bias is used, and decoding second filtering parameters as selected parameters for the first and second chrominance components respectively, if the first decoded filtering parameter indicates one of the boundary type filtering and filtering of the band-type type, loop adaptive bias is looped with respect to a first chrominance component and a second chroma component of said at least one reconstructed sample using second decoded filtering parameters.
EFFECT: optimization of encoding and / or decoding of compensation offsets for a set of restored image samples in order to provide improvement in efficiency of encoding video codec and / or decoding complexity.
