FIELD: physics; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical radiology and represents a method of protecting animals from high-dose ionizing radiation, comprising administering to mice a disposable biological preparation, characterized in that as a biological preparation, which is once intravenously introduced in period of 30 to 60 minutes to 12 days before irradiation with high-dose ionizing radiation 9.4 Gy, or a preparation of total RNA yeast S. cerevisiae containing 2 % molecules in double-stranded form, 7 mg, or purified from single-stranded fraction preparation of S. cerevisiae yeast RNA, containing not less than 90 % of molecules in double-stranded form, in dose of 0.16 mg.
EFFECT: use of the declared method provides higher effectiveness of animal protection against high-dose ionizing radiation and extends the range of equipment.
