SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to quantum electronics, devices for producing controlled interruption of an atomic beam with adjustment of its intensity, and can be used in atomic beam frequency standards with beams, for example, strontium, rubidium or cesium. Invention is an atomic beam breaker comprising a rotary gate, one end of which is connected to the motor to determine the position of the gate, It differs from known designs in that damper is made in the form of two parallel blades, to which vacuum fixture with diaphragm for input of atomic beam is connected through vacuum inlet, on the other side vacuum input is connected with step motor with position sensor and digital feedback.
EFFECT: present invention increases efficiency of opening/closing and controllability of atom flow in atomic beam.
