FIELD: fire extinguishing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of extinguishing local underground fire centers of peat fires in conditions of restricted use of heavy machinery, equipment and risk of people staying. Essence of the claimed method consists in the fact that in the peat fires burning local underground fire centers extinguishing method, including the active local underground fire center definition of peat fire, drilling of inclined well with installation of casing string in direction of combustion source, arrangement of explosive charge in combustion source, power of which is determined after exploration of active local underground source of burning of peat fire, detonation of said charge and mixing by blast wave of burning and unburning layers of peat and quenching of said peat fire source, wherein explosive charge is placed in combustion source at level of moistened mineral earth layer, and after blasting of explosive charge in zone of mixing by blast wave of burning and not burning layers of peat humidified mineral earth layer is added, which is located in lower layer of zone of local underground source of combustion.

EFFECT: proposed method of extinguishing local underground fire centers of peat fires is simple in operation and can be used in extinguishing local peat fires with any depth of peat in conditions of limited use of heavy machinery, equipment and risk of people staying.
