FIELD: construction; technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of construction materials and can be used in production of construction ceramics, particularly decorative ceramic bricks. Disclosed is a method of producing a crude mixture for decorative construction ceramics, which contains clay material, which includes drying components, milling and subsequent mixing, moistening and granulation of raw material in turbo-blade blender-granulator for 2–3 minutes at mixer-granulator blades rotation frequency 15–18 s^-1 to obtain a granulated press powder, after which finely ground wastes from manganese ore are added, with the following ratio of components, wt%: clay material 90–98; production wastes of manganese ore 2–10, then semi-dry pressing, drying and firing products.

EFFECT: simplification of the method due to reduction of the amount of raw components and production of decorative building ceramics with pronounced decorative coloration of red-brown tones.
