FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of transport machine building. Metal pipe for structural element of vehicle body, having round cross-section with outer diameter D and length not less than 6D, contains section of high strength and sections of low strength. Section of high strength has yield point of not less than 500 MPa. Sections of low strength are located along entire periphery of metal pipe so that high-strength section is located between them and have yield point making 60–85 % of yield point of high strength section. Size of section of high strength measured in longitudinal direction of metal pipe is not less than 2/3D and not more than 4/3D. Structural element of vehicle body comprises said metal pipe with branch pipes.
EFFECT: reduced weight and reduced degree of protrusion of pipe section bent as a result of impact.
