FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of transport machine building. Metal pipe has rectangular cross-section and contains pair of side walls facing each other, and upper and lower sections. Upper and lower sections are connected with top and bottom edges of side walls. Metal pipe is six times larger than the height H of the high side wall when measuring in the longitudinal direction of the metal pipe. Side walls comprise high and low strength sections. Section of high strength has size of not less than 2/3H and not more than 3H. Sections of high strength have yield point of not less than 500 MPa. Sections of low strength have yield point making 60–85 % of yield point of high strength section. Size of each section of low strength is 3/5H or more. Vehicle structural element is formed from said metal pipe with rectangular cross-section and is attached to vehicle.
EFFECT: reduction of degree of projection of pipe at collision of vehicle is achieved.
