FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and specifically to a method of producing 1,5-benzodiazepines of the formula given below, in which R=Me or Et, by catalytic heterocyclisation of o-phenylenediamine with ketones (acetone, butan-2-one), characterized by that catalyst used is amorphous mesoporous aluminosilicate ASM in amount of 5–30 wt% with respect to the initial reagent mixture and the reaction is carried out at 25–80 °C for 5 hours in a solution of methanol, molar ratio of o-phenylenediamine : ketone = 1:1–5.
EFFECT: novel method of producing 1,5-benzodiazepines, which simplifies and reduces the cost of synthesis of derivatives.
