FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry, specifically to a method of producing 1,5-benzodiazepines of the formula given below, in which R=Me or Et, by catalytic heterocyclisation of 1,2-phenylenediamine with ketones (acetone, butan-2-one), characterized by that the catalyst used is granular zeolite Y in H-form (H-Ymmm) of high degree of crystallinity, having a hierarchical (micro-meso-macroporous) structure in amount of 5–30 wt% in relation to initial mixture of reagents and reaction is carried out at 20–100 °C for 5 hours in a solution of methanol, molar ratio 1,2-phenylenediamine : ketone = 1:1–5.
EFFECT: novel method of producing 1,5-benzodiazepines, which enables to simplify synthesis of derivatives and reduce energy and material consumption of the heterocyclisation process.
