FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: N-heterocyclic compounds, tetrahydroquinoline derivatives having a wide spectrum of biological activity, specifically a method for the synthesis of 3-methyl-2-ethyl-N-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-amine. The method for obtaining the target product is carried out by catalytic heterocyclization of aniline and 1,2-propanediol in the presence of granular hierarchical zeolite ZSM-5-h in the H-form. The reaction is carried out in a flow reactor with a fixed bed of catalyst at 300–350°C, atmospheric pressure, volumetric feed rate (w) 0.7–2.0 h-1, molar ratio of aniline:1,2-propanediol equal to 1:(2–4), in a nitrogen atmosphere.
EFFECT: selective method for the synthesis of 3-methyl-2-ethyl-N-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-amine from accessible and storage-stable raw materials.
