FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology and hematology, and can be used for maxillary sinus puncture in thrombocytopenia. Quaternary fiber of the semiconductor laser is inserted into the puncture needle so that its end projects from needle by 2–3 mm. Needle with protruding fiber is inserted into puncture zone until laser fiber thrusts into maxillary sinus wall. Contact laser exposure is made to the puncture zone with power of 7–8 W in continuous mode for 5–10 seconds. Laser fiber is removed with simultaneous movement of puncture needle forward until it stops in wall of maxillary sinus and punctures are performed.
EFFECT: method provides reduced risk of developing severe bleeding during and after puncture of maxillary sinus in patients with low platelet count due to minimal laser exposure on tissue and performing puncture directly through coagulation zone, precision alignment of the end of the laser fiber to the puncture zone by using the puncture needle as a guide.
