FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the mass transfer characteristics of fermentation apparatuses consists in determining the volumetric mass transfer coefficient of oxygen from the tangent of the slope of the rectilinear section of the graph of the dependence of the equilibrium concentration of dissolved oxygen in a liquid during aeration with air on time, constructed from experimental data in semi-logarithmic coordinates (ln[C*-C0]/ΔC), t, where C* is the equilibrium concentration of dissolved oxygen at time t after the start of aeration with air (mg/l); C0 is the equilibrium measured concentration of dissolved oxygen at the initial time t before the start of aeration with air (mg/l); ΔC is the change in the equilibrium concentration of dissolved oxygen over a period of time Δt during aeration with air (mg/l); t is the duration of aeration with air (seconds), and the values of C* and C0 are obtained by direct measurement.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of assessing the mass transfer characteristics of fermentation apparatuses.
