FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electrochemical treatment of water with disinfectants in form of hydroxyl radical (OH), atomic oxygen (O), oxygen (O2), ozone (O3), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), hypochlorous acid HClO and hypochlorite ion ClO-, involving introduction into treated water of disinfectants obtained by direct electrolysis in flow mode of treated water containing 0.1÷20 mg/l of sodium chloride. Method is characterized by that the disinfectants are formed by direct electrolysis of chloride-containing solutions, wherein the electrodes have a titanium base coated with platinum group metal oxides, interelectrode distance is from 1 to 3 mm, and the reverse polarity is performed without intermediate pauses with smooth polarity change. Invention also relates to the device.
EFFECT: wider field of use of reagentless disinfection of water by direct electrolysis, longer service life of electrodes, high efficiency of electrolysis cell while reducing formation of deposits of hardness salts.
