FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: equipment has a source of water being treated, water consumption meters mounted on water feeding lines and fitted into the anode and cathode chambers; and electrochemical reactor at the exit of anode chamber. The equipment is also provided with device for metering reagent coming from container. The PEM module-type electrolytic element is the main unit of the equipment under review. PEM is an electrolyzer with coaxial external anode 8, inner core-type cathode 9 and tube-shaped ceramic diaphragm 10 between electrodes. Electrodes and diaphragm are rigidly and hermetically fixed by seal rings 11 and 12 and end bushings 13. Inlets 14, 15 and outlets 16, 17 of electrode chambers are located on the outside of PEM.
