SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and aims at determining the risk of developing postoperative complications in surgical treatment of presenile cataract of eye. Method for determining risk of developing postoperative complications in surgical treatment of presenile cataract eye involves collecting anamnesis based on hereditary factors, presence of chronic somatic diseases, eye injuries and pathologies, infectious diseases, as well as moisture intake of the anterior eye chamber during surgical treatment. In the anterior eye chamber moisture level of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is determined by immunoassay. If the TNF-α level is more than 2 times higher than its normal levels of 0.8–3.1 pg/ml, a risk of postoperative complications is identified.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables more effective determination of the risk of developing postoperative complications in surgical treatment of presenile cataract of the eye.
