FIELD: chemistry; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to portable electrochemical equipment, which enables to evaluate the inclination of austenitic steels to inter-crystalline corrosion in laboratory and industrial conditions, as well as the degree of sensibilisation of the steel structure. Cell housing is made in the form of hollow cylinder (working chamber). Piston, comparison electrode and auxiliary electrode are located in the housing. Auxiliary electrode is arranged in the form of spiral and is installed coaxially with cell housing. Comparison electrode is located along the cell axis inside the auxiliary electrode. Open end of the cylinder can be closed with an easily detachable membrane. Membrane is made of porous or capillary material absorbing electrolyte.
EFFECT: uniform polarization of the investigated surface, exclusion of electric circuit breaks electrolyte – auxiliary electrode, reduced error of potential measurement at observance of compactness of electrochemical cell.
