FIELD: methods of study of corrosion resistance of welded joints of articles made from austenitic steels and alloys. SUBSTANCE: method consists in estimation of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion cracking; to this end, beads are welded-on preliminarily at different heat input of welding on solid and sectional plates at thickness of 0.65 to 0.75 of thickness of welded joint components at rate of cooling plates related to rate of cooling welded joint at relative dependence. Estimation of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion cracking is effected by magnitude of relative extent of carbides and pitting in chain of any three adjacent boundaries of grains by calculations. Bead may be welded-on by electric arc whose heat input exceeds rated limit by 30 to 50 %.
