FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and an SCR-active, iron-containing molecular sieve. Method of producing active in reaction selective catalytic reduction (SCR-active) catalyst based on molecular sieve includes performing hydrothermal treatment of iron-containing molecular sieve in non-oxidising atmosphere at temperature in range from 600 °C to 900 °C for 15 minutes to two hours. Molecular sieve is a zeolite having structure AEI, AFX, CHA, FER or SFW. SCR-active iron molecular sieve of structure AEI, AFX, CHA, FER or SFW is a molecular sieve, hydrothermally treated in steam containing non-oxidising atmosphere at temperature in range from 600 °C to 900 °C for 15 minutes to two hours. Said molecular sieve shows such selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides with NH3 ammonia or urea at temperature of 250 °C, which is at least 50 % more than for comparable iron-containing molecular sieve which has been calcined at temperature of 500 °C for two hours without performing hydrothermal treatment in a non-oxidising atmosphere.

EFFECT: catalyst has improved low-temperature efficiency.
