STRANDS COATED WITH POWDER BY ELECTROSTATIC METHOD Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B29B15/12 B29C70/08

Abstract RU 2703213 C2

FIELD: plastic processing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and apparatus for making a tape from reinforcing threads impregnated with a polymer binder, as well as to a continuous tape and a bonded composite part. Continuous belt is formed by unidirectional fibres from inorganic material, has constant width throughout its length. Threads extend in a direction parallel to the length of the tape from the strand consisting of threads leaving the supply coil. Method includes the steps that allow adjusting the tension of the strand unwinding, directing the strand along the machine axis, adjusting the strand width and depositing the polymer on the strand using electrostatic powder application. Weight ratio of the polymer ranges from about 20 to about 75 %. Further, polymer is melted, band width and thickness are calibrated and tape is assembled on storage coil.

EFFECT: technical result achieved by using a group of inventions is to produce a reinforced tape of a large length in the form of a single part having a constant width with a small standard deviation and a controlled level of the polymer.
