FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to salts of (5-hydroxy-3,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methanesulphonic acid of general formula I:
and a method for production thereof. Disclosed method of producing (5-hydroxy-3,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methanesulphonic acid differs from known analogues in fewer steps, higher output, use of cheaper and less toxic reagents and solvents, less amount of wastes and lower toxicity thereof. Disclosed purification method enables to obtain highly pure (5-hydroxy-3,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methanesulphonic acid with impurity content of less than 0.1 %.
EFFECT: claimed salts I-2 – I-13 are synthesized from (5-hydroxy-3,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-6-methylpyridin-2-yl)methanesulphonic acid in one step by simple neutralization reaction and have significantly better solubility in water as compared to with initial acid.
