SUBSTANCE: invention relates to research and analysis of materials, particularly to methods of controlling integrity of articles from composite materials based on carbon fiber, and can be used to identify manufacturing defects and operational damages of articles from composite materials containing carbon fiber. Disclosed is a method for non-destructive testing of composite materials containing carbon fiber, which includes heating material with an external source, recording the temperature field of the controlled material, analyzing the detected temperature field to determine the presence of defect areas. Material is heated by exposure to a carbon fiber in the material by a high-frequency electromagnetic field.

EFFECT: high efficiency and reliability of assessing the state of articles from composite materials based on carbon fiber throughout the depth of their structure, without exposing the layers of the coating to excessive load, if any.
