FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for non-destructive quality control of multilayer structures (MLS) with cellular filler based on thermal control results. Method includes: thermal excitation of multilayer structure, registration of its temperature field and detection of defective areas. At that, immediately before control in internal area of structure low pressure is created, Then, thermal excitation is performed by pumping preheated inert gas into structure inner area. At that, gas temperature is higher than ambient temperature by preset magnitude. Also disclosed is a device for thermal control of a multilayer structure with a cellular filler, which includes a thermal imaging device 4 and a computer with software 9. To create low pressure in the internal area of the structure and thermal excitation by pumping into the internal area of the structure of a pre-heated inert gas, the device further includes a source of inert gas 1, connected by a gas line, gas heating unit with temperature sensor 2, gas flow switch 3, low pressure unit 7, pressure sensor 6, nozzle 5 and command unit 8.

EFFECT: high value and accuracy of localization of the obtained temperature response, reliability and efficiency of detecting internal defects such as separation of the skin from the filler.
