FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts for cleaning tail gases. Disclosed is a catalyst carrier for cleaning tail gas formed during synthesis of oxalate by CO binding, consisting of Al2O3 and having bimodal pore size distribution, having a first peak at 2–10 nm and a second peak at 10–50 nm, and said carrier consists of α-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3, and α-Al2O3 ranges from 50 to 99 wt% of carrier. Disclosed also is a catalyst for cleaning tail gas formed during synthesis of oxalate, containing said carrier, methods for preparing the disclosed carrier and catalyst, as well as a tail gas cleaning method using said catalyst.
EFFECT: catalyst using the disclosed carrier increases efficiency of reducing levels of nitrogen oxides and alkyl nitrite in tail gases formed during synthesis of oxalate by CO binding.
