FIELD: acoustooptics; laser equipment.
SUBSTANCE: acoustooptical optical radiation modulator comprises a light and sound conductor with input and output facets. Optical beam falls on the facets of the light-and-sound line at the Brewster angle. Light-conducting conductor is made of two mirror-like prisms so that optical beam passes all 4 faces at Brewster’s angle. Arrangement of prisms, ultrasonic transducers on faces of prisms and phase of signals supplied to them provides in-phase of wave fronts of ultrasonic beams in prisms.
EFFECT: technical result consists in possibility of using modulator for laser beams of high power with preservation of laser beam position, which leads to simplification of operation with modulator.
