FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acousto-optics, to apparatus for shifting the frequency of laser radiation in order to increase the angle between the direct and diffracted laser beams. Proposed is an anisotropic acousto-optical laser radiation frequency shifter made on a uniaxial crystal in the form of a prism with an ultrasonic transducer placed on one of the faces thereof; according to the invention, the face whereon the direct and diffracted light beams are incident is made inclined at an angle ensuring full internal reflection of the beams and an increase in the angle between the direct and diffracted beams due to specifics of reflection of light beams in the anisotropic medium, and, depending on the variant, the beams exit the prism is carried out through the face opposite to the face whereon the ultrasonic transducer is placed or through the face whereon the ultrasonic transducer is placed.
EFFECT: greater angle between the direct and diffracted beams.
