FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used for protection against breakage of phase conductor of overhead power line with isolated, compensated or resistively grounded neutral voltages of 6-10-20 kV. Device for determining section of three-wire overhead transmission line with phase wire breakage consists of microprocessor electric power meters installed on low voltage side of transformer substations, with functions of detecting breakage of phase wire (protection) and transmission of emergency signal via GSM-channel to data collection device of electric network control room and installed on dispatching station of electric networks of data collection device, logic unit with logic elements NOT, AND, OR and information display, wherein when the wire is broken at any section of the overhead line, the microprocessor counters are triggered, emergency signals are transmitted over the GSM channel in the form of dialing to the data collection device, at obtaining of which at the corresponding outputs of the logical unit and the information display there is information on the certain section of the overhead line with the phase wire breakage.

EFFECT: improving reliability of operation of electric circuits with voltage of 6-10-20 kV, reducing time for searching for damage, improving electrical safety conditions at breakage of a phase conductor of a three-wire overhead line.
