FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, surgery and proctology and discloses a method of assessing the risk of postoperative complications of surgical management of hemorrhoids by blood examination. Method involves obtaining blood from hemorrhoids, determining by ELISA test inflammatory mediators – interleukin 1 (IL-1), interleukin 4 (IL-4), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 8 (IL-8) and if one or more of the above inflammation mediators are detected in a diagnostically significant concentration: IL-1 ≥12 pg/ml, IL-4 ≥14 pg/ml, TNF-α ≥6 pg/ml and IL-8 ≥30 pg/ml – local inflammation is stated.
EFFECT: invention enables preparing the outpatient surgical management of hemorrhoids by detecting a local inflammation based on recording a diagnostically significant level of cytokines and/or chemokines in hemorrhoid blood.
