FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of controlling terrain modes for a vehicle and embodiments of a vehicle, by means of which systems the method is implemented. Vehicle comprises: engine, sensors, steering control, suspension, terrain mode switch and processors. Method includes stages, at which by means of processors implemented selected mode of terrain by setting at least one of engine, steering and suspension; recording selected terrain modes; placing the registered selection variants into the first and second groups; calculating confidence index based on first and second groups of registered selection options; determining road conditions based on sensors; displaying indications on the basis of confidence index and road conditions. First group includes selection options registered during the first time interval, and the second group includes options of selection registered for the second time interval. Second time interval is greater than the first one.

EFFECT: providing an invention which displays indications for the user, based on the confidence and road conditions, corresponding to modes of the vehicle.
