FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry, specifically to control of liquid level by acoustic method, and can be used to determine liquid level in wells. Method includes generation of acoustic signal in inter-tube space of well at wellhead, recording the reflected from the liquid acoustic signal, determining the time between generation of the acoustic signal in the annular space of the well at the wellhead and recording the acoustic signal reflected from the liquid, determination of liquid level by product of time between generation of acoustic signal in inter-tube space of well at well head and recording of reflected from liquid acoustic signal on speed of sound in gas of inter-tube space of well and division of this product into two. At that, speed of sound in gas of inter-tube space is determined by measurement at well head and corrected in compliance with mathematical formula.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the accuracy of determining the liquid level in the annular space of the well.
