FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry, specifically to the field of liquid level control by acoustic method, and can be used to determine the level of liquid in wells. The method includes recording acoustic noise in the annular space, its sequential first Fourier transform, taking the logarithm and second the Fourier transform, determining the resonant frequency of noise by finding the maximum frequency of the function of the second Fourier transform, the inverse of which is multiplied by the speed of sound in the gas of the annular space and divided by two. In this case, before taking the logarithm of the function of the first Fourier transform, the frequency values of the components of the function of the first Fourier transform change in accordance with the mathematical formula.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the liquid level in the annular space of the well by studying the resonance of acoustic waves propagating in the casing annulus of the well by taking into account the different propagation velocity in the gas of the annular space of the well of various frequency components of noise.
