FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a power supply element using energy of radioactive material. Device uses ZnO as a semiconductor with a power-generating metal-semiconductor junction. ZnO is arranged in thin layers. System of electric generator includes radionuclide material, thin layer of n-type semiconductor material; metal electrodes, at least one of which is in direct contact with said semiconductor material and forms a metal-semiconductor junction between them. Radioactive emissions received from said radionuclide material are converted to electric energy at said metal-semiconductor junction. Also provided are electric contacts connected to said electrodes, which facilitate the flow of said electric energy when connected to load.

EFFECT: technical result is longer service life with relatively high power generation.
