FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical technologies in the field of rare and non-ferrous metals and can be used for obtaining aluminum alloy with scandium. Aluminothermic reduction of scandium fluoride is carried out by melting in temperature range of 740–780 °C charge in form of a salt composition of the following composition, wt%: scandium fluoride 16–25, potassium or sodium chloride 79–60, sodium fluoride 5–15, and with weight ratio Al: salt higher than 3.0, and holding of obtained metal melt during 20–60 minutes with removal of salt flux, after that obtained ligature melt is overheated to 900–950 °C for 10–20 minutes with subsequent pouring. Fluoride compounds of scandium are also sodium tetrafluorosanediinate with scandium content of 28–32 wt%.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a ligature with the required characteristics at high output of scandium into the end product with simultaneous reduction of material and energy costs, and also to improve quality of morphology of obtained ligatures due to involvement of new sources of scandium into circulation, for example, during processing of productive solutions after well underground leaching of uranium.
