FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of individual protection and is intended for protection of workers safety and health. Technical effect is achieved due to the fact that the device contains the first sensor which detects whether an article representing a PPE is worn on a user, a processing module and a communication module. Processing module comprises a time counter which measures the length of time during which the article, which is a PPE, is put on a user, and storage device for storing data on use, wherein the use data include the length of time during which the article, which is PPE, has been worn by the user. Communication module is designed for wireless transmission of stored data on use to a device separate from the product, which is PPE.
EFFECT: high accuracy of monitoring the operational life of the individual protection means.
