SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly cardiology, beam diagnostics and can be used to predict the risk of atherosclerotic vascular changes. Waist circumference is measured in centimeters in a standing position, where the measurement is performed by a centimeter tape at the level of the distance between the costal arches and iliac bones, enzyme immunoassay is used to determine the blood serum intreleukin-6 level and if observing a combination of waist circumference 98 cm and more and the blood serum interleukin-6 concentration of 17.4 pg/ml and higher, the high risk of atherosclerosis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides higher effectiveness of early detection of atherosclerotic vascular changes by evaluating complex of most significant indicators.
