FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical interferometry and can be used to create an optical spectrometer which is insensitive to the polarization state of the detected radiation. Optical spectrometer with a fiber input for optical coherence tomography has series-arranged input fiber with a depolarizing element, a collimator, a dispersion optical element, a focusing element, a photodetector of a linear type. Depolarizing element is made in the form of two pieces of polarization-holding fiber of different length, wherein the lengths and the difference in lengths of the two segments are greater than or equal to the ratio of the coherence length of the recorded spectral component to the refraction index difference of the polarization-holding fiber for their own polarization modes, wherein polarization modes of the second segment are turned by 45 degrees relative to polarization modes of the first segment.

EFFECT: improved characteristics of the output signal.
