METHOD FOR ASSESSING THE REHABILITATION POTENTIAL IN THE ELDERLY PATIENTS WITH STAGE III DISCIRCULATORY ENCEPHALOPATHY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B10/00

Abstract RU 2705624 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gerontology, neurology, restorative treatment, and can be used for evaluation of rehabilitation potential (RP) with the possibility of the rehabilitation result prediction in the patients of the senior age group with dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the III stage, in the treatment-and-prophylactic establishments. A method for determining a rehabilitation potential (RP) is characterized by the fact that in the medical examination, the patients are tested for the presence of intellectual-mnestic, cognitive, emotional-volitional disorders and motor disorders according to the assessment scales. Based on the obtained data, functional status (F) values of the patient's daily and instrumental life, short-term and long-term memory, productivity of cognitive activity are evaluated in standard units, neurological disorders: if F is equal to 1 standard unit, disorders are evaluated as pulmonary; if F is 2 standard units, the disorders are considered to be moderate; at F value equal to 3 standard units, violations are evaluated as severe. Rehabilitation potential is calculated by summation of values of functional indices by formula: RP=Fns+FIADL+Fsm+Flm+Fct, where Fns is functional index of neurological scale (Fns); FIADL is a functional indicator of the IADL scale; Fsm – short-term memory (Fsm) functional indicator; Flm – long-term memory functional index; Fct is the functional parameter of the proof sample. RP is recognized as high at value from 5 to 7 standard units, as average at value from 8 to 11 standard units, as low at value from 12 to 15 standard units.

EFFECT: technical result consists in creating a simple method, most reliably determining rehabilitation potential; using the method enables providing a rehabilitation prognosis that promotes higher clinical effectiveness.
