FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for calibration of indicator diagrams. Set task is achieved by the fact that in the method of calibrating an indicator diagram of an engine, obtained indirectly as a function of the angle of rotation of the crankshaft, including measurement of mechanical stresses from action of gas pressure in engine cylinder and inertia forces of reciprocating moving masses of connecting rod with subsequent conversion of obtained value of gas pressure in form of output voltage of sensor, according to the invention, calibration of the indicator diagram is carried out based on an analytical calibration equation by successively calculating a scaling factor and a coefficient, which determines the shift of the measured signal along the axis of abscissas of the calibration curve with subsequent progressive determination of actual values of gas pressure as a function of the angle of rotation of the crank shaft by using a calibration equation.

EFFECT: fast, accurate and reliable method of calibrating an indicator diagram during in-service diagnostics of piston internal combustion engines based on results of indirect indication in operating conditions.
