FIELD: manufacture of engines; measurement technology; estimation of technical state of internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in indirect indication of cylinders due to use of complex model identifying the data and correction of line of indicator diagram. Proposed method is performed by continuous finding of indicator diagram of cylinder depending on angle of turn of shaft or by time at which diagram is obtained through measurement of stresses acting in studs or bolts; diagram thus obtained is compared with standard diagram. Indicator diagram of cylinder is obtained as difference of present magnitudes of measured stresses and their averaged magnitudes at suction or exhaust stroke, at delivery and absence of delivery of fuel, at different speed and loading conditions of engine; magnitudes of these diagrams are compared with magnitudes of standard indicator diagrams.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability of measurements.
