FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cross-linking agents for hydroxy-functional alkyl polyureas having a defined structural formula, as well as to a coating composition, in particular powder coating compositions containing said cross-linking agent and to a substrate on which said coating composition is at least partially applied. In said structural formula of hydroxy-functional alkylpolyurea, R includes an isocyanurate group, a biuret group, an allophonate group, a glycoluryl group, benzoguanamine group, a polyether amine group and/or a polymer group other than the polyether amine group and having Mn equal to 500 or more. In given structural formula of hydroxy-functional alkylpolyurea each R1 is independently hydrogen, alkyl having at least 1 carbon atom, or hydroxy-functional alkyl, having 2 or more carbon atoms, and at least one R1 is a hydroxy-functional alkyl having 2 or more carbon atoms; and n is equal to 2–6.
EFFECT: invention reduces the hardening temperature of the coating and modifies electrostatic properties.
