SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of molten epoxy binders for producing structural polymer composite materials (PCM), including for decorative use, based on fibrous reinforcing fillers, processed by prepreg technology, which can be used in automotive, shipbuilding, wind power, sports, electronic and construction industries, as well as for design applications when creating exteriors, interiors, furniture, sculptures and new technological solutions. Described is an epoxy binder for structural polymer composite materials, comprising a mixture of liquid diglycidyl ether based on bisphenol A with epoxy equivalent weight of 170÷215 and solid diglycidyl ether based on bisphenol A with epoxy equivalent weight 450÷750, latent hardener – dicyandiamide, curing accelerator – asymmetrically disubstituted urea, characterized by that it additionally contains an elasticizer – colorless aliphatic diglycidyl ether at the following ratio of all components, wt%: liquid diglycidyl ether based on bisphenol A with epoxy equivalent weight of 170÷215 38.7–51.8; solid diglycidyl ether based on bisphenol A with epoxy equivalent weight 450÷750 40.0–50.0; latent hardener dicyandiamide 2.5–3.7; accelerator – asymmetrically disubstituted urea – 0.5–2.7; elasticizer – aliphatic diglycidyl ether 3.0–7.0. Prepreg and article are also described.

EFFECT: increased technological viability of binder and prepregs based on it at temperature of 25 °C, higher preservation of ultimate strength at static bending of PCM samples after exposure to UV radiation and manufacture of articles with high-quality surface.
