FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical industry, namely to an extract of astragalus roots possessing antioxidant activity. Astragalus roots extract, having antioxidant activity, obtained by treatment of milled dry roots of astragalus membranaceus of 3–8 % aqueous solution of alkali in ratio of raw material: aqueous solution of alkali – 1:8–12 at temperature 55–65 °C and constant stirring at rate of 300 to 1,000 rpm, containing a sum of acidic and neutral components with concentration of 28 g/l to 107 g/l.
EFFECT: above-described extract has pronounced antioxidant activity.
