FIELD: pharmaceutical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry, namely to the method for extraction and purification of baicalin from root cultures of Baikal skullcap. Method for extraction and purification of baicalin from root crops of Baikal skullcap includes steps: grinding, powder extraction with ethanol in a water bath with a reflux condenser, combining the extracts, concentrating the extract under vacuum, then diethyl ether is added to the evaporated residue and processed, the obtained ether fractions are combined and evaporated to a dry residue using a rotary evaporator, and an untreated baicalin is obtained, The obtained dry residue is dissolved in a solvent consisting of n-hexane and acetone and filtered, then the obtained fraction is chromatographed on silica gel with a mobile phase in the n-hexane-acetone gradient, the separated flavonoid fraction is rechromatographed on silica gel with the mobile phase n-hexane-chloroform, after which the eluate is dried under certain conditions.

EFFECT: above method makes it possible to obtain baicalin of high purity from root cultures of Baikal skullcap.
