FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing crystalline glyoxalic acid. Method is carried out by concentration of aqueous solution of glyoxalic acid with mass concentration of 50 % on a rotary evaporator at residual pressure of 15 mbar and temperature of 40 °C to weight concentration of glyoxalic acid 80–87 %. Then the solution is diluted with water to mass concentration of glyoxalic acid of 77–80 % and left at room temperature for 5 days.
EFFECT: improved method of producing crystalline glyoxalic acid.
