FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method refers to medicine, namely to pediatric cardiology and pediatric endocrinology, and can be used for prediction of risk of occurrence of life-threatening arrhythmias in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Method comprises continuous monitoring of glycemia with evaluation of carbohydrate metabolism. If observing hypoglycemia periods ≥2.2 and <3.0 mmol/l Holter monitoring is carried out with estimation of QTc interval duration. If observing QTc>450 ms, a risk of life-threatening arrhythmia is stated.

EFFECT: method enables detecting a risk group on occurrence of life-threatening arrhythmias among patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, conducting timely prevention by compensating for carbohydrate metabolism by early detection of asymptotic prolongation of the QTc interval.
