FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and can be used for production of implants or prostheses. For this purpose, biocompatible cobalt-based alloy is used to produce workpieces. Said workpieces are obtained in a soft state. Subsequently, the implant or prosthesis is made from a soft workpiece by mechanical processing to remove material. That is followed by thermal treatment of the implant or prosthesis in order to establish their hardness using precipitation hardening or formation of a solid solution. Cobalt based alloy consists of: C is up to 0.1 wt%, Si 0.8–2.0 wt%, Cr 22–29 wt%, Mn up to 1 wt%, Ni up to 3 wt%, Fe up to 3 wt%, Ce up to 1 wt%, Ga up to 5 wt%, B up to 2.5 wt%, the rest is Co and one element for dispersion hardening or solidification of the solid solution, selected from the group consisting of Mo, W, Nb, Al, Ti. What is also presented is a method for producing the implant or prosthesis.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to simplify the production of implants or prostheses by treating a workpiece in a soft state with subsequent dispersion hardening.
