SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of managing a life cycle of a payment token on a mobile device. Method comprises: receiving, in a computer system, an authorization request for a payment transaction, accessing a token entry in the token database, determining whether the token expiry date contained in the token entry in the token database is more recent than the token expiration date contained in the authorization request, replacing an out-of-date expiry date with the current valid expiration date and transmitting an authorization request from the computer system with a current expiration date.
